Cosmetology & Esthetic Programs Celebrate Amazing 2023! February 29, 2024

Can you believe that it is already 3 months into 2024?  Where does the time go and WHY does it always seem to go so fast?  Our cosmetology and esthetics programs are already full swing into the new year!  This post may seem a few months behind, but, the truth is, it has taken us a few months to wrap our heads around what a year 2023 was for our Academy. So many incredible things happened for TSPA DC, I wanted to take a moment and celebrate them!  Plus, with the beauty industry experiencing unparalleled growth, there has never been a better time to enroll in an esthetics or cosmetology program! In January, we welcomed Ms. Kim as our new Director of Admissions.  Her professional experience, industry knowledge and passion for her job created such a difference in our admissions office.  We are so lucky that she chose to come and work for our Academy! Don’t worry, we’ll tell you more about her in another blog post!

This past year, TSPA DC experienced a surge in applications, and enrollments, which drew an eclectic mix of students that were eager to learn from the very best.  Our cosmetology program grew beyond what we have ever experienced before.  Our esthetic departments continued with their robust student enrollments!  What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the diversity and passion of the student body. From fresh high school graduates to career changers looking to follow their passion for beauty, the academy has become a melting pot of talent and ambition. This diversity not only enriches the learning environment but also fosters a culture of inclusivity and innovation, preparing students to meet the ever-evolving demands of the beauty industry.  We are truly honored that each and every one of our students chose us as their home for their beauty education!

But the success story doesn’t end with enrollment numbers. The student clinic at TSPA Washington D.C. has witnessed a remarkable increase in new guests, eager to experience the cutting-edge treatments and services offered by the academy’s talented students. This surge not only provides invaluable real-world experience for students but also serves as a testament to the high level of trust and respect the academy commands in the community.

The student clinic, a critical component of TSPA’s hands-on training approach, allows students to hone their skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. The increase in clientele has not only boosted cosmetology and esthetic students’ confidence but has also provided them with a diverse set of challenges, preparing them for successful careers in the beauty industry.

Lastly, at the end of 2023 we welcomed Johanne Cunha as a new member of our ownership team.  Johanne has been a staple of the TSPA DC family since we opened our doors in 2017.  She was our first educator as well of the only Financial Aid Administrator that we have ever had!  She was the recipient of the Financial Aid Administrator of the Year for the SPEC Franchise in 2021 and has emerged as a leading resource amongst the franchise!
